National Portrait Gallery
This 1854 four-volume set of the National Portrait Gallery of Distinguished Americans was published by D. Rice and A. N. Hart. The volumes are bound in red leather and feature gold ornamentation on the cover boards and spines. The spines also have raised bands, while gold gilt covers all of the page edges.
