Plutarch’s Lives
Plutarch’s Lives in six volumes, translated from the original Greek, by John & William Langhorne. These volumes are the second edition, and were published in 1813. The volumes are bound in brown leather, with the spines feature gold gilt font and ornamentation, as well as slightly raised bands. The cover boards feature engraved detailing, and gold gilt emblems. The page edges are all marbled. The sixth volume’s front cover board is detached but included. See photo.
